The Mappershainer head at Mappershain in the Hessian Rheingau- Taunus-Kreis is a survey in the Taunus low mountain range and 548 m above sea level. NHN, the highest in the Western Hintertaunus.

Geography

Location

The Mappershainer head is located in the Western Hintertaunus in the Rhein-Taunus Nature Park. Its summit rises about 500 m northwest of Mappershain and 1.5 km east-southeast of Long arbitration. About 1 km east of the survey on which extends some of the Kemeler Heath, is the watershed point between the Dörsbach the north and the Wisper in the west, both of which rise here, and the Aar in the east.

About 5 km north- west of the Mappershainer head is the second- highest peak in the Western Hintertaunus the Grey head with 543.4 m.

Nature Spatial allocation

The Mappershainer head counts in the natural spatial feature unit group Taunus (No. 30) and in the main unit Western Hintertaunus ( 304) for subunit Western Aartaunus ( 304.1 ), with its landscape to the southwest in the subunit Wispertaunus ( 304.0 ) drops.

Transport and Hiking

About 500 m northeast past the top of the head Mappershainer the federal highway 260 runs ( sometimes also called Bäderstraße Taunus ) that there reaches about 515 m altitude. From this road branches off about 1km (each air line) east of the Summit County Road 680, leading by Mappershain spur road from.
