Maputsoe ( mɑ'putswɛ ), also Maputsoa, is a city in the west of Lesotho on the east bank of the river Caledon ( Sesotho: Mohokare ). The city has 36,200 inhabitants. Maputsoe belongs to the district Leribe. As a border town Maputsoe is located near the South African town of Ficksburg. The city is located 1,621 meters above sea level.

Maputsoe is to the capital Maseru, the second most important industrial center of Lesotho. At the same time, it is the largest town, the district capital is not.
