Marc Cherry

Marc Cherry ( born March 23, 1962 in Los Angeles, California) is an American writer and producer. He was known by the Desperate Housewives series he designed.

Career

In the 1990s he was a writer and producer of the sitcom The Golden Girls. Cherry wrote for the series and also for its short-lived spinoff Golden Palace.

Cherry was also co-founder of The Crew (1995). He himself created in 2001 Some of My Best Friends, one based on the film Kiss Me, Guido Comedy Series.

Cherry sprang from the known performance group The Young Americans.

The breakthrough in 2004

In 2004, a conversation with his mother inspired him to design a program about the lives of four housewives. After HBO, FOX, CBS and NBC rejected the concept of ABC Marc Cherry brought by the recording of the series in the program for the big breakthrough. Known as " dramedy " designated format was known right away and took care of both national and international debates.

Political commitment

Cherry was described in "Newsweek" as "a little more conservative, gay Republican ."

In 2006, he was honored by the Log Cabin Republicans with the American Visibility Award.
