Marcel Ritzmaier

Marcel Ritzmaier (born 22 April 1993) is an Austrian football player at the position of midfielder. He is currently awarded by PSV Eindhoven to the SC Cambuur - Leeuwarden. In addition, he already came to an insert in the Austrian Football Bundesliga.

Career

Ritzmaier began his career at TuS Spielberg in Styria. After three years at SV Lobmingtal and a return to Spielberg he came over FC Jews Castle in 2006 for FC Kärnten, where he drew attention to himself in the youth department.

In 2007 he moved to SK Austria Kärnten, where he was active in the youth department first, before he was taken to the squad of the second team, where Ritzmaier in the 2008 /09 season playing for the first time.

2009/10 he was accepted by the first-team coach Frenk Schinkel in the advanced Bundesliga squad. His debut in the Bundesliga was the left midfielder 2 August 2009 in the 3rd round match against Rapid Vienna, where he came in to replace Marco Salvatore in the 81st minute when the score was 1:2. After Rapid still scored three goals and the game ended 1:5.

In the winter transfer period 2009/10 the talent moved to the Netherlands for PSV Eindhoven, where it was active in the second team initially. First appearances in the first team of PSV recorded Ritzmaier in the final two group matches of the UEFA Europa League 2011 /12. Since January 2012, he is an official senior squad.

He was loaned to newly promoted Eredivisie SC Cambuur - Leeuwarden on August 8, 2013 from PSV Eindhoven. On 26 October 2013, scored his first goal in the Eredivisie 3-1 final score against FC Utrecht.

Ritzmaier is currently in the squad of the Austrian U20 national team.

Private

His older brother Christian (* 1991), a former junior national team, played for January 2014 for FC Zeltweg.
