Marcelle Lentz-Cornette

Marcelle Lentz- Cornette ( born March 2, 1927 in Niederkorn, † 29 January 2008) was a Luxembourg politician (CSV).

Marcelle Lentz studied at the Sorbonne in Paris and completed her study of chemistry with the Doctor degree from in natural sciences; she was trained as a teacher for the secondary school and, as such, from 1952 to 1964 at the Lycée Hubert Clément in Esch- sur -Alzette active. She was married to Dr. Albert Lentz since 1956.

Since 1965 she was a member of the Christian Social Party (CSV ). Marcelle Lentz was 1979-1994 four MPs for the CSV in the Luxembourg Parliament, the Chambre des Députés. From 1980 to 1989 she was a member of the European Parliament from 1989 to 1999 Member of the Council of Europe. She was a member of the Group of the European People's Party ( EPP) and was a member of the board. 1998/1999, she was Vice President of the North Atlantic Assembly of NATO. She was Deputy mayor (1970-1980) and long-time first Alderman of Aldermen Council of Sass Home (1968-1985, 1997-1999, 2001-2003). She was active in the social field, and later became a founding member of " Kanner hëllefe Kanner " and "Moms hëllefe Moms ". Lentz- Cornette was awarded the Grand Federal Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
