Marchetto Cara

Marco Cara, also Marchetto Cara (* 1475 in Verona, † after 1525 in Mantova ) was an Italian composer.

From 1495 to 1525 he was in the service of the Gonzaga family in Mantua, which promoted artists from all directions at the time.

He created more than 100 homophonic, simple song sets and was one of the main representatives of this frottola mentioned sentence form. In addition, only a few works have been handed down from him.
