Marcia Strassman

Marcia Strassman ( born April 28, 1948 in New York City, New York ) is an American actress.

Life and achievements

Strassman grew up in New Jersey and worked in her childhood as a model. As a teenager, she replaced Liza Minnelli in the off- Broadway musical Best Foot Forward. In 1964, Strassman received her first television role in the series The Patty Duke Show. Her film debut followed in 1969 in the film drama free as the wind. In the years 1975 to 1979, she starred in the television series Welcome Back, Kotter, what role she made famous.

In the adventure film The Aviator (1985 ) was seen Strassman on the side of Christopher Reeve and Rosanna Arquette. In the comedy Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989 ) she played the wife of the scientist Wayne Szalinski (Rick Moranis ). She took over the same role in the sequel Honey I Blew Up the Kid (1992 ), for which she was nominated for the 1993 Saturn Award. In the comedy The Movie Hero (2003) she played the mother of main character embodied by Jeremy Sisto.

Strassman is since 1984 married to the writer-director Robert Collector, by whom she has a daughter born in 1987.
