Marcos-Antonio Serrano

Marcos Antonio Serrano Rodríguez ( born August 9, 1972 in Chapela Redondela, Galicia ) is a Spanish former road bicycle racer.

Career

Serrano began his professional career in 1993 with the Spanish team Kelme. In 1999 he moved to Once- Eroski. He then set off for the successor team Liberty Seguros. In the 2007 season he drove for Karpin Galicia. After he finished his career.

He was considered a good stage racer and could victories at the Vuelta a Castilla y León ( 2001) and the Volta a Galicia (1999) win. With the victory at Milan -Turin in 2004 but he also achieved success with an Italian classic; other one-day races of the UCI ProTour he has ranked in the top 10 on occasion. Serrano has seven participated in the Tour de France, his greatest success in this race was the stage win the 18th stage of the Tour de France 2005.

Doping

Serrano was accused in an investigation report of the Anti- Doping Commission of the French Senate in July 2013, to include around 60 riders, which based on retests from 2004 Doping with the formation of blood hormone erythropoietin (short: EPO) at the 1998 Tour de France could be detected.
