Redondela

Redon Delaware is a city in the southwest of the province of Pontevedra in the Spanish autonomous community of Galicia. The municipality covers an area of ​​52 km ² and had 29 918 inhabitants on 1 January 2013.

Geography

The community Redondela divided into 13 so-called parroquias (literally parishes ):

The western boundary of the district municipality Redondela forms by the Atlantic Ocean. In the south Redondela borders the municipality of Vigo, on the east by the districts of Mos and Pazos de Borben and to the north by the municipality of Soutomaior.

The geography of the district is characterized by both mountain peaks up to almost 500 meters above sea level ( in the southwest of the municipal district ) and the other by the coastline which has partly sandy and partly rocky character. In addition, the district is crossed by a topographic depression in north-south direction. Along this valley features Redondela a strongly undulating landscape. The average height in the township is 17 m above sea level.

The river system in the township Redondela consists of several small rivers (including Fondón, Cabeiro, ...) as well as some larger watercourses ( Maceiras and Alvedosa ).

Climate

Proximity to the sea due to year-round mild temperatures and heavy rainfall, particularly in winter.
