Margaret Edson

Margaret Edson ( born July 4, 1961 in Washington, DC) is an American playwright, which was awarded in 1999 for her play Wit the Pulitzer Prize for drama.

Life

Margaret Edson graduated from the Sidwell Friends High School in Washington, DC and then studied in History of the Renaissance at Smith College, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA). It was after a degree in English literature at Georgetown University, which she completed a Master of Arts (MA), a teacher at a primary school in Atlanta.

For her play Wit in 1995, she received the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for drama. 2001 piece by Mike Nichols starring Emma Thompson and Christopher Lloyd was filmed in the lead roles. The German Academy of Performing Arts has named the piece in a production directed by Claudia Johanna Leist for radio play of the month January 2001. In German-speaking theater productions of the play under the title Spirit by directors like Heidelinde Leutgöb worked among other things, Susanne Barth. Your 2008 piece written Satisfied has not yet been premiered.
