Margaret Hamburg

Margaret Hamburg ( born July 12, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American doctor. From 1991 to 1997 she was the Commissioner of Health of New York City. She's since 22 May 2009, the director of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Hamburg studied at Radcliffe College and received her MD of Harvard Medical School.

She is married to Peter Fitzhugh Brown, the couple has two children.
