Margaret McDougall

Margaret McDougall ( born January 23, 1949) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labour Party.

Life

After leaving school, McDougall initially worked for a textile company. She then studied part-time at the University of Glasgow. She is a member of the trade union UNISON and lives with her husband and two children in Irvine.

Political career

1999 McDougall was elected to the Regional Council of North Ayrshire and re-elected ever since. For the first time she joined the Scottish Parliament elections 2007 elections at the national level. However, they applied not to the direct mandate of a constituency, but was placed on the fourth rank of the Regional Evaluation of the Labour Party for the election Region South of Scotland. Since the Labour Party won in this election region as a result of the election results list no mandate, McDougall failed to reach the Scottish Parliament. In the following 2011 parliamentary elections McDougall was set to the regional election list of neighboring electoral region of South Scotland. She received a list of three mandates of the Labour Party in this election region and moved for the first time in the Scottish Parliament.
