Margarete Neumann
Margarete Neumann ( born February 19, 1917 in Pomerania, † March 4, 2002 in Rostock) was a German writer and poet.
Life
Neumann studied the socio-educational seminar in Königsberg ( Prussia) and worked until 1945 as a social worker in Heilenberg. After the escape, she was, among other things Neubäuerin in Mecklenburg and welder in Halle ( Saale). Since 1952, she lived as a freelance writer in Hohen Neuendorf, 1961 in Neubrandenburg. It was considered a party-affiliated writer and representative of Socialist Realism in the GDR.
After the turn Neumann lived from 1991 to 2001 in Sousse or Hergla (Tunisia). She died on 4 March 2002 from cancer. The grave of the writer is in Mallin.
