Margit Kaffka

Margit Kaffka ( born June 10, 1880 in Großkarol, Transylvania, Romania today, † December 1, 1918 in Budapest) was a Hungarian writer, poet, feminist and journalist.

Life

Her father was a civil servant, who died early; the daughter could only study in a convent school. Kaffka received the 1902 Teaching Diploma on Civil Schools ( polgári iskolai Tanari oklevél ) and has taught in Miskolc, 1905, she married Bruno Fröhlich, a forestry engineer. After five years, the couple separated, Kaffka goes to Budapest, where she teaches a further five years and Ervin Farmer, a physician - biologist married, with whom she leads a happy marriage. In 1915 Kaffka was just more literary works. Kaffka and her son were victims of the 1918 Spanish flu worldwide.

Poet, writer and journalist

First poems of the then 21 -year-old Kaffka published the magazine Magyar Geniusz. During her work as a teacher in Miskolc it was permanent staff member of the literary group Nyugat ( German West). Kaffka has two great literary themes: the crisis of the impoverished nobility (Hungarian dzsentri ) and the position of the contemporary woman. Her second novel ant nest was a great success with the public, he sat a critical look at the convent education. Kaffka raised her voice against unreasonable bloodshed and war propaganda. As a journalist, she was highly regarded.
