Marguerite-D'Youville Regional County Municipality
Marguerite - D'Youville (formerly Lajemmerais ) is a regional county municipality (French municipalité régional du comté, MRC ) in the Canadian province of Quebec.
It is located in the Montérégie administrative region and consists of six subordinate administrative units ( three cities, two towns and a Sprengel ). The MRC Lajemmerais was established on 1 January 1982. The main town is Verchères. The population is 72,900 and the area of 347.5 km ², representing a population density of 209.8 inhabitants per km ².
The MRC Lajemmerais was renamed on February 12, 2011 in Marguerite - D'Youville. The new name commemorates the Holy Marie- Marguerite d' Youville.
