Mari Törőcsik

Mari Törőcsik ( born November 23, 1935 in PELY ) is one of the most famous Hungarian actresses.

Life

Törőcsik completed the 1954-58 drama and film school in Budapest, then she played from 1958 to 1979 in the Hungarian National Theatre (Budapest ) ( Nemzeti Színház ). Further stages of their theater activities have included Szolnok and Győr, 1989-92 she was Chair of the Hungarian actor chamber and a lecturer at the drama and film school. Since 2002, she again acts at the National Theatre.

The general public are the actress but was mainly known about the movie. Since the 1950s she has appeared in over one hundred roles in film and television. Her film debut was in 1955 in Zoltán Fabris carousel in the lead role of the girl Mari. She received two times Best Actor Award of the Film Festival Karlovy Vary, 1960 for her role in Mihály Szemes ' The rascal and 1972 for dead place by István Gaál. One of her greatest achievements was the part of Julianna Géczy in Gyula Maar TV movie Mrs. Dery wherever you go? (1976 ), for which she won the Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival. She was also honored in 1959 with the Béla Balázs Award, in 1964 and 1969 with the Mari Jászai Award and in 1973 with the state Kossuth Prize. Since 2005, the actress is honorary citizen of Budapest.
