Maria Chiara Carrozza

Maria Chiara Carrozza ( born September 16, 1965 in Pisa) is an Italian high school teacher and politician.

Carrozza holds a degree in Physics and a Ph.D. in engineering sciences. From 2007 until February 2013, it was headmistress of the elite university Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa, where she teaches Economic and Biological Engineering.

In the 2013 parliamentary elections for the 17th legislative period Carrozza moved as a candidate of the Democratic Party ( PD) in the Italian Chamber of Deputies on ( it was started as a top candidate in Tuscany ). April 28, 2013 to February 22, 2014 she was Minister of Education, Universities and Research in the Cabinet Letta.
