The Maria Curie - Skłodowska University (Polish Uniwersytet Marii Curie Skłodowskiej, UMCS ) in Lublin, Poland was founded on 23 October 1944. It is named after the two-time Nobel Prize winner and native Polish Marie Curie.

The University currently has around 36,000 students and 302 professors. To meet the increasing demand for higher education to meet, the Marie Curie University has built in the last years branches in other cities, so in Biała Podlaska, Biłgoraj, Radom, Kazimierz Dolny and Rzeszów.
