Maria Eisner

Maria Eisner (also: Maria Eisner Lehfeldt; born February 8, 1909 in Milan, † March 8, 1991 in New York City ) was an American photographer, photo editor and photojournalist.

Life

Eisner was originally from Milan and studied in Germany later. In the 1930s, she was involved in the founding of the Paris photo agency Alliance Photo and emigrated at the beginning of World War II to the United States.

In 1947 she was co-founder of Magnum Photos.
