María Vasco

María Vasco ( María del Monte Vasco Gallardo, born December 26, 1975 in Barcelona) is a Spanish race walker.

Vasco set several Spanish records for 5000 and 10,000 meter track walking and within a 5 km, 10 km and 20 km of road walking.

At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, she won the bronze in the 20 - km walk behind Wang Liping (CHN ) and Kjersti Plätzer (NOR ). More top rankings reach Vasco seventh place at the 2001 World Championships, fifth at the 2004 Olympics and fourth at the World Championships in 2005.

At the world championships in 2007 Vasco won the bronze medal. In the 2008 Olympics she was five.

She is 1.56 m tall and weighs 46 kg.
