Marian Cross

The Marian Cross is in the heraldry of a particular Latin cross, which is used as a herald image or as a figure in the coat of arms heraldic shield or field. The cross is a Roman Catholic, which is shifted to the right. Under the extended left arm of the cross, the letter M floats as majuscule. The general tincture is gold for the Marian Cross. Variations in presentation are also available. Here, a cross is placed on the letter, or the M before the cross floating.

The letter " M" in the lower left quadrant represents the Virgin Mary.

The cross took on the personal coat of arms of Pope John Paul II and also on medals because of a Marian apparition his place.
