Mariano Natalio Carrera

Mariano Natalio Carrera ( born July 22, 1980 in San Isidro, Argentina) is an Argentine boxer.

Professional career

Carrera earned his first professional fight in May 2001. Until 2006, he struggled with changing success exclusively in Argentina. Although he won the 2002 Argentine and 2004 the South American championship, but lost in this period, four fights against little -known opponents.

On 2 December 2006 he won before 3500 spectators in Esterel Hotel in Berlin- Neukölln against the Spanish defending champion Javier Castillejo subordinate "regular" world champion of the WBA. The real champion of the association, the so-called " WBA Super Champion " was at that time the American Jermain Taylor. Carrera beat Castillejo by technical knockout in the eleventh of twelve rounds.
