Marianum

The Pontifical Theological Faculty " marianum " in Rome (it.: Pontificia Facoltà Teológica " marianum ") is the Faculty of Theology of the Servite and serves the regular study of theology.

History

Pope Boniface IX. (1389-1404) was issued on January 30, 1398 the Superior General of the Servites the right to award degrees. This privilege was by Popes Clement VIII (11 July 1604), Paul V. ( June 6, 1606 ), Urban VIII ( December 19, 1633 and January 9th, 1639 ) and Alexander VII (10 April 1658) ratified. On February 26, 1666 first orden own higher education institution was founded in San Marcello monastery in Rome. Pope Clement IX. (1667-1669) approved on 21 February 1669 statutes. In 1870, after the occupation of Rome, the Institute was closed. With a new name, the educational center of St. Alexis Falconieri was opened in 1895 again. It involved a 1928 house at Viale Trienta Aprile in Rome, where even today is still the seat of the faculty.

With the Apostolic Constitution Deus scientiarum dominus on May 24, 1931, Pope Pius XI. (1922-1939) the Servitenhochschule to the Faculty of Theology. 1950 received the academic educational institution to the rank of Pontifical College. With the decree Caelestia honor Andae Reginae of 8 December 1955, the Faculty of Theology was given its final determination. From now on, the official name " Faculty of Theology " marianum ". Followed in 1968 by a revision of the statutes and study guidelines under the provisions of the Second Vatican Council. On January 1, 1971, the Congregation issued for seminars and study facilities of the Faculty of Theology of the title " Pontifical Theological Faculty " marianum ".

The Mario Logical Institute

Opened in 1957, the Faculty of the " Mario Logical Institute ", which has the power in the department of " Mariology " to give educational qualifications. In addition to the licentiate and doctoral studies, a two-year mario logical course is offered. Focus is on the pastoral importance of Mariology. The Congregation for Catholic Education granted approval to issue the diplomas in Mariology on March 7, 1960 the Institute. This authorization was extended on 7 March 1965 the award of Doctor of Theology with an emphasis on Mariology.

Structure

The Office of the Grand Chancellor of the Faculty is always busy with the Superior General of the Servites. Currently, this is Father Ángel María Ruiz Garcica.

Presidium

Top management are the President ( Father Salvatore Perrella Maria, Professor of Dogmatic Theology and Mariology ) and his deputy. The overall Bureau is composed of the President, his deputy, four other members of the Bureau and the a representative of the faculty and student body.

Council of the Faculty

The faculty is another governing body, to this Council include the total bureau, the rector of the seminary, a student representative and other representatives of the faculty.

Management and staff

This division includes the secretary and his deputy, the librarian, the Director and a coordinating staff.
