Marie Prevost

Marie Prevost ( born November 8, 1898 in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada as Mary Bickford Dunn, † January 23, 1937 in Hollywood, California, United States) was a Canadian actress.

Life

Marie Prevost began her film career in 1915 with appearances in short films. First, however, does not she managed to establish himself in the film business and she had to keep up with many other jobs to support. It was not until 1921 she was finally discovered and was in larger, also published in Germany Hollywood productions such as Ernst Lubitsch's The Marriage Circle and three women (both 1924), to see a girl from a good home and love for notes. By the year 1936, she acted in around 120 productions.

Because of their strong accent she found it after the invention of sound films, however, increasingly difficult to get good roles. Her marriage to actor Kenneth Harlan held only three years ( 1924-1927 ).

Marie Prevost suffered from depression and alcohol addiction. On January 23, 1937, she died of malnutrition and excessive alcohol consumption. Her death was not discovered until days later from neighbors by the loud barking of your dog.

She was given a star on the Walk of Fame.
