Mariele Neudecker

Mariele Neudecker (* 1965 in Dusseldorf ) is a German artist who is primarily known for her installations and sculptures.

Life

Mariele Neudecker was born in Dusseldorf. She began her studies from 1984 to 1985 at the University of Wuppertal in the subjects of art history, philosophy and literature and made 1985 an internship at Pfeiffer & Voss in architectural model making. From 1985 to 1987, she went to the Crawford College of Art and Design in Cork, Ireland and 1987-1990 at the Goldsmith College in London, where she completed her Bachelor of Arts. From 1991 to 1992 she moved to the Chelsea College of Art and Design where she gained her Masters in the field of sculpture. Another academic year she graduated from 1996 to 1997 at Tower Hamlets College, London, for the subject Digital Image Creation manipulation.

In international solo and group exhibitions Neudecker was known as a modern artist for her sculptures and installations. She has been honored with awards and grants, including 1996 with the MOMART Prize in 1997 with an award to Individual Artists of the London Arts Board, 1998 with the Henry Moore Fellowship and in 2001 with the Botho Graef - Prize of the city of Jena.
