Marineamt
The Marine Office ( MARA ) was a higher command authority of the German Navy, which consisted 1965-2012. The staff of the Admiralty was last stationed in Rostock, parts of the rod at the sites Wilhelmshaven, Bremerhaven and Berlin. Following the realignment of the Armed Forces of the Joint Staff of the Navy, the Fleet Command and the Naval Office on October 1, 2012, merged the Naval Command, based in Rostock.
Tasks
The Navy Office supported the Fleet Command in the manufacture of human and material readiness of the Navy. It was responsible for the training of personnel and the procurement and maintenance of material, if this fell under the responsibility of the Navy.
History
Already in 1957 the naval authorities intended to build a Marine Office, which should be responsible for general tasks of the Navy. The purpose established Central Marine Department, however, had already been dissolved in 1959 again.
Outline 1965
In 1965 the Navy Office was established by merging the former Central Marine Commandos with parts of the resolved command of the naval base. It was based in Wilhelmshaven, and was divided into six inspections, which were under the schools of the Navy and some other services.

Reorganizations
In 1974, the Naval Support Command ( MUKdo ) was set up as a third command Higher Authority of the Navy, which was responsible for the direct support of the fleet. The Navy Office was responsible for fundamental matters of training and naval equipment. As part of this reorganization, the inspections were dissolved and three new departments training, defense and medical services established .. In 1997, the Admiralty moved its headquarters to Rostock. With the Indienststellungsmusterung by the then Minister of Defense Volker Ruhe on 29 January 1998, the move was completed.
In the course of a further reorganization of the Navy, the rods of the Navy Office and the Naval Support Command were merged in 2001. The official head of the Admiralty took over at the same time the duties of the commander MUKdo. The Naval Support Command was disbanded on 30 September 2002, the Admiralty took over the tasks and the management of naval bases. The logistics department moved in 2003 from Wilhelmshaven to Rostock and was temporarily housed in a rented building in the DSR Rostock seaport.
Organization 2002-2012
The Navy Office was the department head, a Rear Admiral, out. He was under the rod of the Admiralty with a number of subordinate offices.
Staff of the Navy Office
Within the Admiralty were under the head of department of the Chief of Staff, who led the military staff departments, and heads of departments, who was also deputy to the department heads. The head of the departments, a Rear Admiral, were under six departments. The two larger departments also faced a Rear Admiral.
The Department of Naval Armaments and Logistics (MRL ) was responsible for the defense management in raising new military material (along with the BWB), and logistical support in the use of weapons systems of the Navy. The department was led by Admiral Marine Armaments and Logistics ( AMRL ).
The Department further development and training (WA) is responsible for the development of the Navy and for training in the schools of the Navy (training instructions, course content ). The leadership of the department was the Admiral development and training (AWA ).
The Organization Department of the Navy served structural development of the Navy in accordance with the requirements of the conception of the Bundeswehr and other reference texts. She was among other things responsible for staffing and organizational issues, controlling, and the introduction of the method SASPF and was headed by a sea captain.
The Department of Geoinformation made basic work for Geoinformation Marine and was professionally for Geoinformation Service of the Bundeswehr. She was primarily responsible for the care of underwater data and for maritime meteorology.
The department administration was responsible for the financial affairs of the Admiralty and civil contractual matters.
The Commissioner for accident investigations the Navy investigated accidents and similar accidents involving naval vessels. He reports directly to the Chief of the Navy and was almost transferred to the Navy command unchanged.
Imputed services
The the Navy Office subordinate agencies were not under direct the head of department, but one of the other three admirals.
The head departments was under the command naval command systems in Wilhelmshaven.
The Admiral Navy Armaments and Logistics ( AMRL ) were under the naval bases and the command for troop trials of the Navy in Eckernförde. The Naval Base Command Wilhelmshaven was the troops official superior authority for all bases.
The Admiral further development and training (AWA ) were under the schools of the Navy.
