Marissa Mayer
Marissa Ann Mayer (* May 30, 1975 in Wausau, Wisconsin) is an American computer scientist and manager residing in Palo Alto, California. Since July 2012 she is CEO of Yahoo, before that, she was Vice President at Google Inc.
Marissa Mayer was considered a "public face" of Google. In 2008, she was from the U.S. business magazine Fortune for the first time - and at that time the youngest - ranked among the 50 most powerful women in the world. Newsweek counted among the " 10 Tech Leaders of the Future".
Life
Mayer studied at Stanford University computer science and worked in Switzerland for UBS and Research Lab in Menlo Park ( USA) at SRI International. At Google they began in early 1999 as the first engineer and led, among other things, responsible for the Web server team. She was the 20th employee at Google.
Mayer determined the design of Google's main page and the search. On the design of Google News, Gmail and Orkut she had played a key role.
