Marius (crater)

Marius is an impact crater on the moon western front in the plane of Oceanus Procellarum. It is located northeast of the crater Reiner and northwest of Kepler. The crater wall is hardly eroded and has terracing on. The interior is flat.

To the north runs the Rima Marius.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by the German astronomer Simon Marius.
