Reiner (crater)

Reiner is an impact crater on the moon western front in the plane of Oceanus Procellarum. It is located east of Cavalerius and southwest of Marius. The edge is sharp and hardly eroded. The interior has a central mountain. To the west of Reiner Reiner Gamma is an area with a strikingly high albedo.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Italian astronomer and mathematician Vincentio Reinieri.
