Marius Maziers

Marius- Félix- Antoine Maziers ( born March 1, 1915 in Siran, Cantal, France, † August 14 2008 in Mauriac, Cantal ) was Archbishop of Bordeaux.

Life

Marius- Félix- Antoine Maziers ordained a priest on 9 October 1938.

In 1959 he was called by Pope John XXIII. appointed Titular Bishop of Augustopolis in Phrygia and auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Lyon. He received his episcopal consecration on 25 February 1960, the Archbishop of Reims and later Cardinal François Marty; Co-consecrators were Jean -Marie Villot, Archbishop of Lyon and later Cardinal, and his predecessor, Claude Marie Joseph Dupuy.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him Titular Archbishop of Zica 1966 and ordered him to the side of Paul- Marie André Richaud Coadjutor Bishop of Bordeaux. After the death of his predecessor in 1968, he was appointed Archbishop of Bordeaux.

His age-related resignation was accepted in 1989 by John Paul II.
