Mariya Kuchina

Maria Alexandrovna Kutschina (Russian Мария Александровна Кучина, internationally also: Mariya Kuchina; born January 14, 1993 Prochladny ) is a Russian athlete who specializes in the high jump. She won a gold medal at the Olympic Youth Games 2010.

Kutschina won her first international medal at the World Junior Championships in 2009, where she jumped a personal best of 1.85 m and second behind the Italian Alessia Trost was. She also won a silver medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival ( EYOF ) 2009.

At the European Indoor Championships in 2011 she finished ninth.

In the Moravia High Jump Tour 26 January 2011 in the Czech Třinec she jumped 1.97 meters, beating the previous world record indoor youth of Desislawa Alexandrova 1994.
