Mariya Muzychuk

Marija Musytschuk (Ukrainian Марія Музичук, usually rendered as " Muzychuk " in the West, born September 21, 1992 Striy ) is a Ukrainian chess player and since 2007 Grandmaster ( WGM ). In 2008 she was awarded the FIDE title of International Master (IM).

Life

Marija Musytschuk represented in their youth since 2001, the Ukraine at the World Championships and European Championships various age classes, where they won nine medals. At the 2008 World Junior Championship in Gaziantep they came in second. November 2010 she was 15th in the world rankings of the girls.

Her older sister, Anna Musytschuk is also Grandmaster and International Master.

The highest rank in her career, she reached in March 2012 with an Elo rating of 2490 points. Currently ( May 2013) it ranks with an ELO of 2483 at the 23rd place in the world rankings of FIDE and the 3rd place behind Kateryna Lahno and the women's world champion in 2012, Anna Uschenina, among the Ukrainian players.

Women's World Cup

In 2010 she reached the last 16 of the Women's World Cup, then lost to the Indian Dronavalli Harika in the playoffs after a tie-break in the regular match. 2012, she also reached the second round and was eliminated there against the Chinese Zhao Xue.

Chess Bundesliga

Since 2009, Marija Musytschuk plays in the first German Chess Bundesliga Team of the women in the OSG Baden -Baden.
