Marjorie, Countess of Carrick

Marjorie of Carrick ( * 1256, † 1292 ) was the mother of the Scottish king Robert I ( Robert the Bruce ).

Marjorie was the daughter of Niall, Earl of Carrick, second Earl of Carrick ( † 1256), and Margaret Stewart ( Margaret of Scotland). Soon she inherited from her father, the county Carrick and became 3rd Countess of Carrick.

Her first husband was Adam de Kilconcath, who died in 1270 at the Eighth Crusade in the Holy Land.
