Mark Childress

Mark Childress ( born in 1957 in Monroeville, Alabama) is an American writer.

Life

He grew up in the Midwest and in the southern United States. After graduating from the University of Alabama in 1978, he worked for several newspapers in the southern United States as a reporter.

Childress published five previous novels, his most successful book, Crazy in Alabama, was ten months on the bestseller list of the mirror. Mark Childress is considered one of the most important new writers of the southern states and is sometimes compared with Harper Lee. He currently lives in New York and New Orleans
