Mark Grotjahn

Mark Grotjahn ( b. 1968 in Pasadena, California, USA ) is an American contemporary artists.

Grotjahn studied at the University of Colorado at Boulder and the University of California at Berkeley. His work is heterogeneous. These include both anthropomorphic plants figures and mask representations and abstract color drawings in oil or wax crayon. After 1997, numerous monochrome works also emerged in the tradition of Op Art

His works have been shown in numerous exhibitions and museums in the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany. Grotjahn is represented by Anton Kern Gallery, New York, the Gagosian Gallery in London and the Blum and Poe Gallery in Los Angeles.
