Mark Stevens (actor)

Mark Stevens (actually Richard William Stevens, * September 13, 1916 in Cleveland, Ohio; † 15 September 1994 Majores, Spain ) was an American actor and film director.

Life

Following professional experience as a radio announcer and an investigation begun studying art ( he wanted to be a painter ) Stevens received in 1943 a studio contract with Warner Brothers. His first minor roles he played as Stephen Richards; then he settled on his better-known names. Initially used in several films of the noir series, but he was also in musicals and later to see Western. When his film career stagnated, he was from 1954 to 1956 can be seen in the series Big Town on TV that he also produced; in this medium, he engaged frequently in the following years. In 1953, he had played in "Mid - Summer" on Broadway.

Since the mid 1960s, Stevens lived in Spain and perceived role offers rare; to 1966 in European -produced feature films since the early 1980s, after years of break guest-starred again in the American television series. Occasionally led Stevens also appeared in films directed in which he holds the lead role.
