The Marka is the right source stream of promised Ems, a headwater of the Leda, and belongs to the river system in the Ems. It flows through the community Friesoythe.

Source ( origin)

The Marka rises some 20 kilometers away from Cloppenburg in the high marsh and nature reserve Bockholter box, between relieving and Werlte. It is unusual that bifurcates a short swelling river and then flows as Mittelradde to the south and to the north as Marka.

Watershed

The headwaters of the Marka in Bockholter box lies on the watershed between Mittelradde and promised Ems. While the Mittelradde in most south-westerly direction directly to the Ems Creek tends hare, the water of Marka, the further north the same bog entfließt, mostly in a northerly direction into the promised Ems, which also belongs to the Ems catchment. Mouth

The Marka flows a few meters south along the coast of the channel with the Ohe and forms the promised Ems.
