Märkische Allgemeine

The märkische General (short: MAZ ) is published as an independent daily newspaper of the Märkischen publishing and printing -Gesellschaft mbH (MVD ) based in Potsdam. The sales area corresponds to the western half of the state of Brandenburg.

The märkische General published daily ( Monday to Saturday ) with 15 regional editions, of which the Potsdamer daily newspaper with 26,224 copies sold has the largest partial edition. The paid circulation of all 15 local editions of 128 036 copies, which märkische General is read daily by 399,000 (MA 2010) people, making it the highest reach of subscription newspaper in the state of Brandenburg.

The MVD is since January 1, 2012 in possession of the media Madsack (Hannover).

The MVD or the MAZ changed in the spring of 2012 from both CEO and editor in chief. New chief editor is Thoralf Cleven.
