Marmara University

The Marmara Istanbul University (Turkish: Marmara Üniversitesi ) is a public university in Istanbul and with 62,000 students, the second largest university in Turkey.
The university is named after the lying in Istanbul Marmara Sea, was established in 1982 as a university, but is expanding its teaching and research activities among other Istanbul universities from 1883 on. The courses offered in four languages ( Turkish, English, German, French ). There are 13 sites, 104 degree programs, 11 institutes, 8 universities, 28 research centers.
In May 2005, the then German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, the honorary doctorate of the University was awarded in a festive ceremony.
