Marmot is a company specializing in outdoor clothing and sporting goods company. The name means in English " marmot ".

History

Marmot was founded by two students from the University of California, Santa Cruz, Eric Reynolds and Dave Huntley, who wanted to make their own mountaineering equipment, in 1973.

The company now has offices in California, Colorado, Canada, Hong Kong, United Kingdom, Sweden and Germany. The products are sold in 44 countries.
