Marquess of Beixiang

The Marquis of Beixiang (Traditional北 乡侯,北 乡侯simplified, Pinyin Beixiang Hou, W.-G. Pei -hsiang -hou ) referred, sometimes known as Emperor Shao (少帝, shao di = " young emperor " ), was an emperor of the Han Dynasty. After the sudden death of the Emperor at the year 125, he was appointed to succeed him, but died a short time later likewise.

Its age can be calculated from the sources do not prove, but is commonly referred to as young yes, as a child. Because his reign was quite short and can also be viewed as illegitimate, it is omitted in lists of Han Emperor often.

Family background and ascension to the throne

Liu Yi's date of birth is unknown, but it falls into the late reign of Emperor An. His father Liu Shou (刘 寿), the Prince Hui of Jibei, was a son of Emperor Zhang. Thus Liu Yi was a cousin of Emperor An. About his mother is not known.
