Martin Bell

Martin Bell ( born August 31, 1938 in Redisham, Suffolk ) is a former British newscasters and politicians.

After completion of King 's College, Cambridge, he worked from 1962 for the BBC as a foreign correspondent. For his work he was awarded the 1977 and 1993 Royal Television Society 's Reporter of the Year and received the 1992 Order of the British Empire.

After his resignation, he represented as an independent candidate from 1997 until his departure unsuccessful for reelection in 2001 his Cheshire constituency in the British Parliament. He now works as an ambassador for UNICEF and 2004, there was unsuccessfully as a candidate for election to the European Parliament.
