Martin Heuberger ( born June 5, 1964 in Schutterwald ) is a former German handball player and current national coach of the German handball team. For the TuS Schutterwald he first ran on as a player. Later he was engaged as player-coach and trainer.
His international debut in DHB - jersey gave the 1.93 m wide Heuberger on 17 January 1989 in Osterode against the Soviet Union. He played 26 matches and scored 33 goals. Since 1 February 2002 Heuberger operates as a responsible youth coach for the German Handball Federation. On 1 November 2004, he became assistant to Heiner Brand and co- coach of the German men's national team. With this he was able to celebrate the World Cup in 2007. Since 1 July 2011, he is the successor of Heiner Brand as national coach of the German national handball team.
Heuberger is a professional Diploma in Public Administration ( FH).
