Martin Hyun
Martin ( Jong -Bum ) Hyun ( born May 4, 1979 in Krefeld ) is a former German professional ice hockey player of Korean origin and author who has become known on the integration of his sporting successes out with statements. He was the first Korean -born hockey players in the DEL.
Career
Already in his youth played Hyun for the Krefeld skating club ( CRF) to its amateur team he belonged from the 1995/96 season. After good performances in the farm team of the Krefeld Penguins Hyun was appointed in the 1996/97 season by the former head coach of the Penguins Miroslav Berek and manager Rüdiger Noack in the first team squad. In a preseason game against the Duisburg Foxes of the 17 year old striker reach two goals. The season spent Hyun mainly in the farm team of the Penguins and finished it with 12 points in 27 games. Equipped with a production license of the Krefeld Penguins moved Hyun in the United States. In his penultimate season with the St. Michael 's College Purple Knights, he was Eastern Collegiate Athletic Association North East Champion Division II After completing his policy studies at St. Michael 's College in Vermont changed Hyun in the Belgian Eredivisie, where the Chiefs Leuven under he contract was taken. In Belgium, Hyun wrote one for a Master's Degree in International Relations from the University of Kent at Canterbury English. In the season 2004/ 05 he moved to his hometown club Krefeld Penguins in the German Hockey League. Studies and career
Hyun is a political scientist and hold a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Kent at Canterbury English. His bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in International Business, he completed at St. Michael 's College in the U.S. state of Vermont. After Hyun ended his active sports career, he began in the Parliament office of the former Korean Minister of Health and Social Affairs Kim Chong- in work. Due to its exposure to international understanding between Germany and Korea Hyun was called in the Unification of the Korean President Roh Moo -hyun ( Advisory Council on Democratic and Peaceful Unification ) in 2005.
