Martin Roos

Martin Roos ( born October 17, 1942 in Satchinez, Timiş county ) is a German Roman Catholic priest romania. He is Bishop of Timişoara.

Life

Martin Roos graduated from the elementary school in his hometown and attended 1957-1961 high school in Alba Iulia ( Charles Castle ). The study of theology, he also started in Alba Iulia, but using this from 1962 to 1969 in Germany at the Philosophical - Theological College Königstein continued. He was ordained a priest on July 3, 1971 by Dr. Karl Joseph Leiprecht, Bishop of the Diocese of Rottenburg -Stuttgart. He was in pastoral work in Stuttgart- Obertürkheim (1971-1973), in Stimpfach ( 1973-1990 ). He then worked for the priests the St. Gerhard.

Bishop

Martin Roos was appointed honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Theology for his services to the church history of the Banat, as well as to the studies and educational exchanges, especially in the formation of priests, between the dioceses of Timisoara and Fulda. At the celebration of the Eucharist in the chapel of the Episcopal Seminary took part of the Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Dr. Jean -Claude Périsset (Berlin ) and Bishop Heinz Josef Algermissen and Rector Prof. Dr. Christoph Gregor Müller and Prof. Dr. Cornelius rain Roth.
