Martin Schneider (footballer)

Martin Schneider (born 24 November 1968, Schweinfurt ) is a former German football player who played 379 Bundesliga games for 1.FC Nuremberg, Borussia Mönchengladbach and MSV Duisburg 1987-2000.

Career as a player

Clubs

Schneider began his career at the DJK Schweinfurt. As a 15 - year-old he was first appointed to a DFB youth team and moved to FC Bayern Munich. Eighteen- year-old he signed his first professional contract with 1.FC Nürnberg and was instantly a regular in the Bundesliga. The crew of the FCN with Andy Kopke, Stefan Reuter, Roland Grahammer and Dieter Eckstein finished end of the season a UEFA Cup place. Schneider went through all the youth teams of the DFB. 1983/84 he was active for the U-15 national team seven times. In the season 2002/ 03 Schneider was briefly player-coach of Bayern league climber TSV Gerbrunn. Since 2006, Martin Schneider also serves as player-coach the first team to his home club DJK Schweinfurt, which currently plays in the county league. For the new season 2014/2015 he is the district division FV Karlstadt train.
