Marcel Witeczek

Marcel Witeczek ( born October 18, 1968 in Tychy, Poland ) is a former German football player of Polish descent.

Career

Clubs

Marcel Witeczek began when Postsportverein Oberhausen 1931 eV with the football games. After one and a half years for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen 1985, he moved to the youth department of Bayer 05 Uerdingen. From 1986 to 1991 he was a member of the first team for which he played 142 games and scored 22 goals. He made his debut on August 8, 1986 ( 1st Round ) - on as a substitute in the 81st minute for Werner Buttgereit - in a 2-0 win in the away match against FC 08 Homburg; his first goal meant on 8 November (13th Round ) in the 3-1 home win over VfL Bochum also the final score. In his first season, he also came to a game in the DFB Cup and three matches in the UEFA Cup competition used.

In 1991 he moved to the 1 FC Kaiserslautern, for which he also two national and ten international cup matches played.

In 1993 he moved to Bayern Munich, with which he could win his only club success as a professional.

In 1997 Witeczek to Borussia Mönchengladbach; with the club he joined in 1999 to the 2nd Bundesliga from 2001 to and from it. After two more seasons Witeczek joined club and league: For the SG Wattenscheid 09, he was first in the Regionalliga Nord and a season in the Oberliga Westfalen (4th league) active. His footballing career he trailed off after the end of the season 2006/ 07 in Baden- Württemberg at the regional tier FC 07 Albstadt.

Overall Witeczek denied 410 Bundesliga (50 goals), 64 second division (9 goals ) and 29 Regional games ( 3 goals ) and 23 national (1 goal ) and 32 international cup games (9 goals ).

National

Witeczek was very successful in his youth and was already playing in the national team as a striker student. With the U-17 team in 1985 he was with the U-20 team in 1987 each second in the World Cup, plus he was at both tournaments top scorer (1985: 6 Matches, 8 Goals / 1987: 6 games, 7 goals). For the U-21 national team, he was appointed nine times; his debut was on April 26, 1988 in Kreuzlingen the unchallenged 8-0 victory over and in Switzerland, where he scored two goals - to make it 1-0 and 4-0 - contributed. His last game for this selection team, he played in the quarter -final first leg of the U- 21 Championship on March 14, 1990 in Simferopol in the 1-1 draw against the Soviet Union.

Others

Witeczek plays since 2006 in the Sports Association AOK Rheinland / Hamburg, whose aim is to establish contact with partner companies about the sport and to maintain. For the Sports Association Witeczek completed so far 45 matches and scored 38 goals and was in the years 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010 AOK Federal Cup winner. He also won in 2006 and 2008 the AOK Hospital Cup.

Witeczek has been active for several years as a triathlete. After his football career, he ran his first marathon.

He is currently co-organized with Michael Klinkert on behalf of the AOK Training Centre tournaments, training sessions and courses for children and teenagers.
