Martin Steinegger

Martin Stein Egger (* February 15, 1972 in Biel ) is a retired Swiss professional ice hockey for the EHC Biel and SC Bern 1025 games in the National League A graduated between 1990 and 2012.

Career

Steinegger lived until his descent into the National League B in 1995, his junior club EHC Biel faithful. From the 1995/96 season to season 2007/ 08 he played for SC Bern, with whom he was in 1997 and 2004 Swiss Champion.

Following the departure of the SC Bern as a qualification winner of the 2007/ 08 in the first round of the playoffs against Fribourg- Gottéron stone Eggers contract was dissolved at his own request. Then he returned to his home club, the NLA - Up EHC Biel back.

27 September 2011 Steinegger completed his 1000th NLA game. He is the second player after Gil Montandon, surpassing that mark.

Internationally

For Switzerland Steinegger took part in the U20 World Youth Championship in 1992, and the B World Cup 1997 part. In addition, he was part of at the A World Championships 1993, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007, and the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City in the squad Switzerland. With a total of 219 appearances for the Switzerland Steinegger was temporarily capped player in his country.
