Martin Wagner (footballer)

Martin Wagner ( born February 24, 1968 in Offenburg ) is a former German football player.

Career

Wagner began his career at Offenburger FV, where his talent was to later be a professional football player.

As a professional footballer, he played in the Bundesliga for 1.FC Nuremberg, 1.FC Kaiserslautern and Wolfsburg. With Kaiserslautern in 1996 he became the DFB Cup winner. In the final against Karlsruher SC in a free kick he scored the only goal in a 1-0 success of Kaiserslautern. However, he rose with Kaiserslautern at the same time as from the Bundesliga. After this descent Martin Wagner reported in the current gym the first player to publicly his whereabouts in Kaiserslautern. 1997 managed to Kaiserslautern the rise and in 1998 German champion - the only time in Bundesliga history that a newly promoted next year champion.

In 2001, he finished his career with VfL Wolfsburg.

After his professional career Wagner has worked as a players' agent and represents a number of German and international footballer.

Martin Wagner has ended his involvement as a youth coach at B- FV Ebersweier.

National

His debut for the Germany national team gave Wagner on 16 December 1992 against Brazil. Until 1994 there were no more caps for Wagner. On 29 May 1994, he was then his return to the national team, when he, in the friendly match, against Ireland was used and was even in the starting lineup. In the Football World Cup 1994, he came in the second round against Belgium ( 3-2 ) and in the quarter-final against Bulgaria ( 1:2 ) is used.

His last of six internationals Martin Wagner completed on 12 October 1994 against Hungary (0-0 ).
