Martina Kocher
Martina Kocher ( born March 14, 1985 in Biel / Bienne ) is a Swiss luger and field athlete.
Martina Kocher came in 1994 by her father Heinz Kocher, former Swiss national team coach Bob and sledding for luge. Since 1998 it belonged to the junior national squad since 2003, the national squad at. She is studying physical education and English at the University and the College of Education Bern and starts for the Bob Club Zurich. In the 2003 /04 season she appeared for the first time at the Luge World Cup. In Altenberg, she took the 16th place. Already in its second World Cup in Winterberg they finished seventh and reached for the first time a place among the top ten. At the European Championships in Oberhof, she was eleventh in the Swiss Championships, she won the title. This title she also won the following season. From the 2005/06 season kettle went regularly to the World Cup. Best result was a fifth place in Koenigssee, in the overall World Cup rankings they reached the 13th place. The overall World Cup, she finished in eighth place. Even better was the Challenge Cup 2006/ 07, where they only Silke Kraushaar- Pielach was beaten in the final of Altenberg. In the overall standings of the competition they finished sixth. At the World Championships in Igls cooker was twelfth at the Swiss Championships, she won her fourth consecutive title.
